Scrum Roles
Who does what in a sprint?
- Product Owner is responsible for the product success and interface with stakeholders
- Scrum Master is focused on supporting and coaching the team on Scrum practices
- Development Team creates the product increment in a self-managed and cross-functional way
- no other titles in the team to avoid losing ownership
- all Scrum Team members share ownership for the product increment
The Product Owner
- owns the product vision: formulates it and keeps it updated
- interfaces with stakeholders and writes user stories
- decides what goes into the product backlog
- defines the order of the stories on the PB (important on top)
- answers developers’ questions about the work to do in the Sprint
The Scrum Master
- is as instructor, mentor, facilitator and impediment remover
- teaches the Scrum rules to the team and the rest of the organisation
- mentors team members to practice Scrum values
- facilitates meetings to enforce Scrum rules
- helps remove impediments to save team members time
- must be a natural servant leader or a leader who serves
The Scrum Team
- is composed by Product Owner + Scrum Master + Developers
- self-organised: developers define who does what
- multi-disciplinary: have all skills to complete the Sprint Goal
- collaborative: who needs help? who can help me?
- stable so the team is in the Tuckman’s performing stage
