Scrum Framework
Scrum is the most popular Agile framework
Scrum, the most popular Agile framework, was first presented in 1995 by Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber. Scrum has roles, artefacts and rituals.
Overview
- Scrum is a lightweight framework that helps people, teams and organizations generate value through adaptive solutions for complex problems (2020 Scrum Guide)
- In the 2017 Scrum Guide, Scrum is defined as a framework to develop and maintain complex products
- A complex product is a product (or a service) that is not clearly defined (we only have a Product Vision) and / or that must be developed with an unknown / uncertain technology.
- If you know what you must do and how to do it, don’t use Agile to get there, a predictive approach is easier and will give you good results!
Pillars
- Transparency to make work and decision visible to all
- Inspection is open to anyone to suggest improvements
- Adaptation should be made ASAP to increase delivered value
Values (FORCE)
- Focus and attention to the time-box for the task or event
- Openness to new ideas and constructive criticism
- Respect each other’s time and opinion
- Courage to communicate honestly and face challenges
- Engagement (Commitment) to share ownership
